Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
